John graduated from medical school in Colombia in 1996. He moved to Australia in 2002, and worked in multiple roles at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, including 3 years as an Emergency Registrar before making a sea change to the Sunshine Coast in 2012.
John speaks fluent Spanish.
John enjoys being outdoors, and he is a keen kayak fisherman.

Dr Salam is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He graduated from The University of Sydney with MBBS(Hons) in 2007 and has many years of experience in several hospitals and general practices. His first love (professional that is) was Physics and he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from The University of Canterbury (NZ) in Theoretical Physics in 1992. He lectured in Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at The University of Sydney and CQ University for twelve years. He has published two books, a master thesis, a PhD thesis, a book chapter and more than twenty research papers in international journals and conferences.
His interest in General Practice is wide spread, however he has special interest in chronic disease, skin conditions, mental health, pediatrics, women’s health and men’s health.
Dr Salam’s other activities are quality time with family, poetry (won third prize in North American Open Poetry Contest), chess, walking, Pilates, playing music and Destiny.

Dr Prathmesh Contractor is an accomplished medical professional with over 20 years of experience as a doctor. Dr. Contractor has acquired expertise in the medical profession from his experience working in RBWH, QCH, SCHHS, and Redcliffe Hospital for two decades in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, as well as through advanced training in skin cancer surgery.
Dr Contractor possess a strong interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics managing bone- muscle-joint conditions, skeletal injuries, arthritis, as well as sports and spinal conditions. Surgery has always been his passion, further obtaining an advanced training in skin cancer surgery in order to acquire a qualitative skill set. Prathmesh is available for the patients at Kon-Tiki Medical Centre Monday through to Friday, actively assisting the wider community with his surgical experience. Additionally, his enthusiasm allows him to deftly manage chronic diseases, men and women’s health, children’s heath, acute injuries, and peri operative care. He is a firm believer in patient care and safety, use of latest Australian guidelines and continuous professional development. He is committed to educating patients about their health so as to ensure they have a complete understanding regarding the nature of their symptoms and subsequent management options. He utilises an interdisciplinary and holistic approach for the most optimal care possible, backed up by research and years of experience in both the hospital and general practice settings.

Dr Dhara Contractor is a highly trained physician (MD) and proud founder and director of the Kon-Tiki Medical Centre. Over her 20 years of experience, she has confidently trained in large multidisciplinary hospitals and worked towards collecting medical experience from Russia, England, India and Australia. Dhara has been serving the community of the Sunshine Coast for the last 10 years. She is devoted in providing the highest quality care for her patients, with wide interests in many areas of General Practice which includes skin checks, minor surgical procedures, skin cancer removals, women’s and children health, antenatal (pregnancy) care, men’s health, acute injuries/ illness management. Dhara works in partnership with the patients to empower them with the knowledge to make informed choices as per evidence-based medicine, for their chronic disease management and preventative care. To place firm evidence based medical care for her patients, Dhara has further completed education, workshops and courses to expand her knowledge and skills which includes CCrISP( Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patients, Brisbane), ASE( Anatomy of Surgical Exposure, Cairns), DCH( Diploma of Child Health, Sydney), CAG ( Clinical Advisory Group) for QLD health CPC( Clinical Prioritisation Criteria’s for QLD health SCHHS for General Surgery, Paediatrics and Rheumatology).
